The choice of Palin: a master stroke by John McCain??

my answer is affirmative. The choice of Palin: a master stroke by John McCain??
my answer is affirmative also.

there is a huge group of people out there who wanted a woman in the white house. now they are still up for a grabs (or at least some are). by making this choice he is taking some of the democrats steam. i mean, think about who is the media focusing on right now, even tho obama just had a speech, also how much did we hear about biden?

you don't have to agree with his politics to give credit where credit is due, it was a very smart decision.The choice of Palin: a master stroke by John McCain??
Yes! Palin is in fact a Splendid choice and she will make a Wonderful VP (and future President)! It just goes to show that McCain is a true maverick, reformer %26amp; genius who picks likewise!

Palin:

* has the record of the most beloved Governor in the US by her state (Alaska)

* is a vocal, huge proponent of American energy independence %26amp; Alaskan drilling

* has actually been leading people for the past several while Obama %26amp; Biden NEVER have led anyone!

* shelved her state's pork-laden Bridge to Nowhere that McCain has ridiculed on the trail

* will join McCain in fighting hard against earmarks

* is a huge fighter of corruption in Alaska

* helps McCain connect with working-class and rural voters

* is about as far outside the Beltway as you can get

* ran on the agenda of stopping wasteful gov't spending

* is the mother of 5 kids!

* has had her son deploy to Iraq

* is for a strong US defense

* is a widely acknowledged rising star in the Republican party

* is an ice fisherman

* is a moose hunter

* is a small business owner and a lifetime NRA member

All in all, she's a truly fine leader, citizen and patriot - who truly represents Americana (Motherhood %26amp; Apple pie)!

McCain/Palin '08

Peace
Here's a nation looking for an honest, good hearted president. Obama chooses Biden, a highly experienced choice for VP that can only be beneficial for our country. People, McCain didn't choose Palin because she was the right person for the job, but rather to sway disgruntled woman voters away from Barrack Obama. A mere publicity stunt. In my opinion, that's not what I call a great choice for the country, but rather, a buffer for McCain's fallen ego.

Vote for Palin if you want lessons on moose hunting. Vote for Obama if you want intelligence, honesty, and unity.
It is amazing thing to me the number of women on this site that are saying negative things about Palin. I am a undecided voter and want to know more about her. I would like to say great things about her since she is a woman and women have had to work much harder to get anywhere. I guess I like to see the good in people first. Yes I agree it appears to be a ';master stroke';. Just as it was for Hillary to give her speech at the DNC, and if Obama would have picked her. He did not. Why?
Your question sounds as if it were framed tongue-in-cheek by Stephen Colbert (';Bush: a great president? Or the greatest president?';)

A friend asked me what I thought of McCain's move earlier today...

While I wouldn't call it a ';master stroke,'; I guess it was kind of shrewd, in a cynical, desperate, conniving way, to choose a relatively unknown republican female for the role (to further coax a few still-sulking Clinton supporters thinking of going over to McCain, the equivalent, as someone said, of a chicken voting for Colonel Saunders) - a woman who also happens to have values appealing to so-called ';social conservatives'; (gun-toting opponents of a woman's right to choose abortion), many of whom have never liked McCain themselves... Also, Governor ';Mooseburger'; Palin is unconnected to Bush, who is very unpopular at the moment, and this also helps McCain, nevermind that McCain gave such a strong and unequivocal endorsement of Bush and his policies, including the Iraq war, at the 2004 Republican convention, has voted with Bush nearly all of the time, and has the same neocon foreign policy advisor/lobbyists pulling his strings that Bush has had - and McCain is at the top of the ticket, after all...

So, I told my friend, a woman, my impressions: that it looked desperate to me... I mean Palin has no national experience, let alone international, and she would be commander-in-chief if McCain, who is around the national average life-expectancy age at 72, suddenly happened to keel over?

';I don't know,'; I said...

She said, ';Yeah, but she's a woman, a hot, good-looking woman.';

I answered, ';Maybe McCain is counting on people's stupidity... cynical'; to which my friend replied, ';Well, I hate to say this, but the stupidity is there.';

';I know,'; I said.

.
Personally i'm for Obama, but i believe it was a blow to dems when Palin was announced proving that Obama should have picked Clinton. Macain just took advantage of the situation. Will it work? thats the real question. I believe it will help him some yes, but not enough to win the general election solely on VP choice.
I wouldnt say its a master stroke they are both going to take some heat for it on some issues. But its a move i like it certainly deflates the sails of Obama's rhetoric about change and has knocked a leg off the throne he so smugly sits upon. Look for that golden throne to begin crumbling very soon my gut feeling is that Obama is going to have a major meltdown at some point. The mans on the ropes and knows it look for him to begin to swing blindly and throw in some low blows.
He is simply pandering to Hillary Democrats. The intelligent ones will not be duped.

Those who believe that a woman does NOT have the ';right to choose'; SHOULD vote for McCain/Pa... (whatever her name is).

McCain ';believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned.';

McCain and the Republicans believe a woman does NOT have the right to decide whether to have an abortion!

I have friends from Alaska and they all like her and they are moderates. She doesn't care about what political party your affiliated with if you corrupt she is going to go after you ( which is why they are trying to destroy her). I like her because she is a fiscal conservative and goes to the beat of her own drum
She wasn't my first choice, but she'll do. I don't agree with many of her beliefs, but at least she has some!

Sadly, she has more applicable executive experience than Obama, McCain, and Biden combined.
Yes very much so - but what most people forget, and what I almost forgot was that the VP does next to nothing and is unimportant unless something happens to the Prez... Palin in 2012?
I THINK THE EVE ON HERE IS NUT CASE -- OR SHE IS OBAMAS MOTHER ONE AND YES ITS GRAND CHOICE SHE HAS DONE MORE THAN OBAMA ALL READY SHE IS AT LEAST PURE SOME THING RATHER THAN 1/2 BREED SAYING HE IS BLACK HE ISNT BLACK IF ANY THING HE IS TRUE RAG HEAD THE SAME THING THAT OUR TROUPS ARE FIGHTING EVERY DAY
my answer is a VP that will do everything at his command, a YES woman.

There won't be any disagreements in McCain's White House. That's a real good achievement for women.
Do you mean like a ';stroke of genius'; or a physical stroke, like the kind that leaves you paralyzed? I would say the latter.
The wisdom of this choice hinges on one rather unflattering contingent: The stupidity and gullibility of the electorate.

You tell ME...
weak move! a woman should be insulted that he is trying to win their vote by his choice, it was only due to gender. desperate move by the mccain camp!
If you're smart enough to recognize what he's doing, don't you think everybody will see through it? Master stroke it was not.
yes. she is perfect. she is a good FAMILY lady with GOOD VALUES. you see libs do not like families (unless they are a gay couple with 3 adopted kids) or people with values (don't know any dems with).
Senator McCain outthought, outmaneuvered, and outflanked the Democrats with this choice.
No he is just doing what Rove told him to do. Rove worked on Bush`s campaign and more of the same with McCain.
I think a lot of Americans see it as an obvious and desparate attempt to get women voters on his side.

Absolutely. She helps complete the winning ticket for McCain.
Palin has an excellent resume.

America needs you!!!
No. Desperation move.
No way, no how, no McCain/Palin.
The obamamaniacs have been nuked by a women
Publicity stunt if anything.
Yes! No greater proof that McCain is the real candidate for Change.
Looks like right now that is a big question mark, I am certainly unsure.
Remains to be seen.
If only he'd have a master stroke.

Right now he's sunk America.

He must think Americans are FOOLS.

Sadly, he's RIGHT.

(Listen to PARIS giving advice below....that unfortunately is common America and who this unholy duo appeals to).

Americans need PALIN like they need her bullet hole in their heads.
