Is John Madden the all time master of the obvious?

Here are some real comments Madden has made during games:

';Hey, the offensive linemen are the biggest guys on the field, they're bigger than everybody else, and that's what makes them the biggest guys on the field.';

';If you see a defense team with dirt and mud on their backs they've had a bad day.';

';Here's a guy, here's a guy who when he puts his contacts in, he can see better';

';90% of the game is half mental';

';Hines ward is kind of sneaky good';

Al: John what do the Vikings need to do to get back into this game?

John: Well Al, to get back into this game...Daunte Culpepper and the Vikings have to get back into this game.

';The team who scores the most points will win the game.';

';Well he could either go in hole A or hole B, but the B-hole wasn't open so he went up the ******.';

';To get more yards, it's best to move the ball from the line of scrimmage down the field.';

';If the quarterback throws the ball in the endzone and it is caught, that's gonna be a touchdown.';

';When a guy runs he goes faster.';Is John Madden the all time master of the obvious?
Joe Theismann is a close second, but yeah,

John Madden is Captain Obvious of the Universe.

The team with the most points at the end wins the game.... duuuuhhhhhh

I never heard the ****** comment, but thats funny as hell.Is John Madden the all time master of the obvious?
good football payers lead to good football...and thats how it goes.
';90% of the game is half mental'; is my favorite
My favorite line ever from Madden came in a game last year. I cannot remeber the exact game, but I will never forget the statement. It was a third and long and the statement was

';This is a great situation for any defense because they have the offense backed up. The offense is now forced to throw the ball on this play in order to stay in the game..., but they do have a running back and could try to run it. I guess the defense has to be ready for anything on this play.';
I don't believe most of these are even true. I would even wager that none of them are correct.

For example: 90% of the game is half mental is a misquote of Yogi Berra from more than 50 years ago (The real quote is ';90% of the game is mental, the other half is physical';)
He was until you pointed out that he's the master of the obvious. And thus the torch gets passed to you.
It's either him or baseball's Tim McCarver who I can't even listen to anymore.
lmmfao yeah it's true he always states the obvious as if he thinks the people at home watching are idiots lmmfao
lol...i love the ';he went up the ******'; comment, but yea. I play 04 (soon to play 07) and he states a lot of obvious things...about how the linemen are the biggest guys on the field (well duh, you dont put a skinny cb to block a 275 lb man) and about to get a touchdown, i need to move the ball.
';Well he could either go in hole A or hole B, but the B-hole wasn't open so he went up the ******.';

Im crying that's so funny
I hate Madden, I have to mute the TV when he's commentating or be heavily intoxicated.
