Should John Daly be paid an appearance fee to play the Australian Masters? ?

There is a reasonably good field since it is co-sanctioned with the euro tour. Why would they pay him when they could get someone else who sets a better example and that will probably make the cut.

If you think in terms of business, it makes sense. As much of a train wreck as the man is, he has a large number of fans. There would be people that will buy tickets to see him, that wouldn't buy them if he wasn't there. The amount of money for tickets vs. the appearance fee usually works on the side of the tournament.





That being said, I am against any players receiving an appearance fee for an event where there is already money at stake for the winners.Should John Daly be paid an appearance fee to play the Australian Masters? ?
John Daly brings something to golf. He always keeps you guessing.Golf needs people with character,smoke in the mouth while playing a shot something different, get off his back. The fact that he is getting so much attention only proves he is earning the $50,000 that he was paid they probable spend more on bottles of water for the players.Six or eight puts of his ran around the hole if they had gone in John could have easily found himself 2-3 under. Did he spit the dummy when they missed no just walked up and knocked it in. A lot of drama queens could take a leaf out of his book. Keep going John you are capable of anything
If the Australian Masters wants another player and they wish to pay an appearance fee, that is their business. I have no argument with that. I do have an argument with John Daly who has a lot of talent and has blown every chance which was given him.

Big John is a big disgrace and has done nothing to warrant all the breaks he has received. Reward him for what? The same people who defend him ostracize other athletes who have committed lesser offenses.

The guy has won TWO majors,enough said.If anybody knew anything about golf,they would know how hard it is to win ONE,let alone the two that he already has.
Cant see why being overweight should be a consideration. Most Aussies and Americans are.
I would not pay that man to appear because he's an overweight golfer that isn't that good
