Why is John Daly not playing at the masters this year?

Didn't qualify no inviteWhy is John Daly not playing at the masters this year?
The Masters has a list of qualifying procedures, and Daly did not meet them this year..hence no invitation.

John has got to kick-start his game somehow. He was hurt earlier this year when a camera clicked in the middle of his swing and he hurt himself trying to stop the swing.

He is playing on sponsor's exemptions for the most part since he did not play well enough to have a high spot on this year's exemption list.

Still, he is just one week away from being a regular player but he needs to get well physically and play four good rounds. I look for him to post a couple top 10s before summer. Hope so anyway, he is so much fun to watch. Why is John Daly not playing at the masters this year?
Because he can't putt.
John lost his PGA Tour playing privileges for 2007 because he wasn't in the top 125 in 2006 earnings. However, he can still qualify to play in tournaments that have qualifying rounds and he will certainly be invited to any tournament that allows sponsor exemptions because like to see John hit the long ball.
The players in the Masters all meet specific qualifying criteria and Daly did not meet any of the criteria this year.

The criteria are as follows:

1. Masters Tournament Champions(lifetime)

2. US Open Champions (Honorary, non-competing after 5 years)

3. British Open Champions (Honorary, non-competing after 5 years)

4. PGA Champions (Honorary, non-competing after 5 years)

5. Winners of The Players Championship (3 years)

6. Current US Amateur Champion (6-A) (Honorary, non-competing after 1 year) and the runner-up (6-B) to the current US Amateur Champion

7. Current British Amateur Champion (Honorary, non-competing after 1 year)

8. Current US Amateur Public Links Champion

9. Current US Mid-Amateur Champion

10. The first 16 players, including ties, in the 2005 Masters Tournament

11. The first 8 players, including ties, in the 2005 U.S. Open Championship

12. The first 4 players, including ties, in the 2005 British Open Championship

13. The first 4 players, including ties, in the 2005 PGA Championship

14. The 40 leaders on the Final Official PGA Tour Money List for 2005

15. The 10 leaders on the current year Official PGA Tour Money List published during the week prior to the 2006 Masters Tournament

16. The 50 leaders on the Final Official World Golf Ranking for 2004

17. The 50 leaders on the Official World Golf Ranking published during the week prior to the 2006 Masters.
Two of the qualifications to play in the Masters is to have a tour victory in the previous year, or to finish in the top ten on the money list, or in the top 50 in world ranking. Based on last year's results, John didn't qualify. Below is a link to his page via the PGA Tour website.
he not any good
He wasn't on the invitee list this year.
Daly's in Augusta this week. In fact he's about a quarter mile from the Augusta National gate signing autographs at Hooters.

He was interviewed on television yesterday and said that we was going to get qualified to play in next year's Masters. I hope so and know John misses it.

Check out Big John's schedule.
